Introduction
HydroFilter® is an advanced rain and stormwater filtration system consisting of a treatment chamber containing a hydrodynamic, centrifugal, sediment separator and a vertically charged single or multi-layered porous concrete filter.
The filter element is positioned in between the inlet and outlet ports, and water flows upwards through the filter. Treatment processes in the HydroFilter® involve four steps including sedimentation, filtration, precipitation and adsorption. This rainwater and stormwater filter features high durability, minimal maintenance, overhead access, low head design, lightweight construction and easy installation.
HydroFilter is efficient in removing dissolved and solid substances, in particular heavy metals, hydrocarbons, phosphorous and coarse sediments. Treated water from these rain and stormwater filters can be used for various non potable purposes.
In Australia, New Zealand and Asia/Pacific HydroFilter is marketed, sold and manufactured under licence from HydroCon Australasia Pty Ltd by Humes – a Division of Holcim Australia.
The technology was developed by HydroCon GmbH Germany and is sub-licensed in the USA & Canada to Royal Environmental Systems Inc. under the trade mark ecoStorm plus®.
