APPLICATIONS – INDUSTRIAL

Industrial sites can be highly polluted and require effective management of stormwater run-off from surfaces, material storage and roofs. HydroCon products offer practical and cost effective means of achieving stormwater control targets.

HydroCon pipe systems, installed in industrial developments in both Australia and Germany, have proven ability to remove most stormwater pollutants – particles and dissolved substances, heavy metals, hydrocarbons and phosphorus. Pollutants are removed by sedimentation, absorption and chemical precipitation (enhanced through ion oxides in the HydroCon pipes). Pipes are installed underground within a trench or basin surrounded by an appropriate media, which ensures the capture and ‘tertiary’ treatment of remaining pollutants. The effectiveness of HydroCon pipe systems has been the subject of considerable research and has extensively documented.

HydroFilter is a unique stormwater filtration device, which uses the treatment processes sedimentation, adsorption, chemical precipitation and filtration to substantially reduce contaminant levels in stormwater run-off, especially particle bound heavy metals and phosphorus. HydroFilter is marketed, sold and manufactured by Humes Water Solutions under licence within Australia, NZ and Asia/Pacific.

Fully porous HydroSTON 80 pavers (210 x 140 x 80mm) can be used as pavement cover for some industrial applications such as warehousing yards, truck depots and bus terminals. 100mm thick pavers can be manufactured for applications with particularly high movement frequencies and loadings.
